Lenore: Bio

A complete downloadable EPK is available at

“Her shoes suit her music!” That may sound odd, but Canadian singer/songwriter Lenore Elaine will tell you that she hears it all the time. Certainly, her red high-top runners evoke the sense of irreverent fun this fiery singer brings to her up-tempo high-energy performances. Her song topics and moods range from political to poignant with her trademark sense of humor apparent throughout.

Lenore has been compared to Marianne Faithfull, Melanie and Nico among others, and her lyrics reflect the influence of her songwriting heroes Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and John Prine. The music itself is a unique blend of folk, rock, country and blues.

Lenore, currently living in Oshawa, ON, has been performing her music for many years and has released three CDs of all-original songs. She has been nominated for several awards, such as ‘Best Folk Artist’ by the Toronto Independent Music Awards, ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ in Durham Region and has received international recognition in several songwriting contests.

“Another Life” was Lenore’s most recent CD release and featured the production talents and superb guitar work of roots veteran Paul Mills (Stan Rogers, Ron Hynes) with additional support from some of Toronto’s finest acoustic musicians. The CD spent several weeks on the U.S. college radio charts and Lenore toured extensively upon its release, playing everything from festival stages to small intimate house concerts.

Lenore is currently preparing to return to the studio to record her 4th CD and is also involved in several co-writing projects through her affiliation with the Nashville Songwriter’s Association.
