"A playful and irrepressibly witty crafter of songs" TOMoon
Every Once In A While is the 4th CD of all original tunes from Ontario singer/songwriter Lenore Elaine. Produced by renowned roots veteran Ken Whiteley, these 11 new songs feature Lenore’s smoky vocal, straight to the heart lyrics and snappy melodies, always with a message of hope amidst adversity. Despite the serious subject matter of some of the songs e.g. “Another Good One Gone” and “I Am So Sorry”, Lenore still manages to convey throughout the album the sense of joyful exuberance that she always brings to her live performances.
The CD was recorded at Casa Roxton with help from some of Toronto’s finest session musicians and was released in the fall of 2018 in time to feature the 2 Christmas songs that close out the album, “I Miss My Mom at Christmas” and “Christmas Tree”.
Lenore’s previous album, “Another Life” (2007 produced by Paul Mills and featuring ‘The Hippie Song’) saw her tour extensively including mainstage performances at the Susquehanna Music Festival (Baltimore) and opening for such artists as Cheryl Wheeler, Edie Carey and Zoe Lewis at clubs including The Jefferson Freedom Café and Uncle Calvin’s Coffeehouse in Dallas, Texas. Back home Lenore garnered nominations for Best Folk Album (Toronto Independent Music Awards) and “Best Female Artist” (Durham Region Music Awards) and has received international recognition in several songwriting contests. She marked a triumphant return to the concert stage at the Whitby Courthouse Theatre in September 2018 to play the new album in front of a crowd of 150 local fans followed by a Toronto release at The Piston in November.
